A two-parameter recurrence

Let Im,n=∫0π/2cos⁡mxsin⁡nx dxI_{m,n}=\int_0^{\pi/2}\cos^m x\sin^n x \, dx. Then

Im,n=m−1m+nIm−2,nI_{m,n}=\frac{m-1}{m+n} I_{m-2,n}

if m≥2m\ge 2 and

Im,n=n−1m+nIm,n−2I_{m,n}=\frac{n-1}{m+n} I_{m,n-2}

if n≥2n\ge 2.

The case m=0m=0 recovers the sine-power recurrence; the case n=0n=0 recovers the cosine-power recurrence. The base values needed to stop the reduction are I0,0=π2I_{0,0}=\frac{\pi}{2}, I0,1=1I_{0,1}=1, I1,0=1I_{1,0}=1 and I1,1=12I_{1,1}=\frac{1}{2}.
